Mp3 > AAC question

Ive been using mp3 192 Br(?) on my ipod, and when I saw that you save more space when you use AAC 128 Br(?) I started to do it. Ive re-ripped some of my cds, not converting the mp3, and havent heard any differences between the 2. Exept for the Bass. So what is different between the 2, and how much would I save in space from a 12GB Mp3 192 > AAC 128? thanx (also, is it worth all the time, and effort?)

The 12GB of 192 Kbps MP3 files will take up approx. 8GB of space if they were 128 Kbps AAC files. Only you can decide if sound quality is acceptable.
