My iPod had its first intimate encounter with the ground.
I left my iPod sitting on my desk, and went outside for awhile. When I got back in, I saw that my iPod was lying face down on tile about 2 1/2 feet from my desk. The only people in the house at the time was my mom and my dog. Both strongly deny they were in the area when it happened. Is my iPod trying to commit suicide? Have there been any other documented cases of this? Is it likely that it will be more successful the next time? I must know!
Btw, in case you're wondering, my iPod is just fine. It has a couple small, deep scratches on the face, but other than that it is largely unharmed.

Maybe you caught the cord on yourself as you left.
I've done that more than once, but luckily I've never fully dropped it.

yeah, me too. I panicked once and I dragged along an entire stereo installation. Plus side: It wasn't mine and I fled like hellfire.

I dropped mine today (no dogs to blame). Unharmed also.

So far my "new" ipod (the one I got as a replacement for meh dead one) so far has not been dropped! Or scratched! I put it in an xskn eXo 3 the day I got it. :-D

I too have mysteriously found my ipod face down on the ground. I left my ipod charging in the dock on the carpet, left the room for five minutes and came back to find it face down. I have reason to suspect that my sister knocked it over. Although she seems sincere when she denies it......something strange is going on

I too recently experienced finding my iPod on the ground, however I must blame the people who designed my pants. They decided It would be a good idea to make a cargo pocket that is completely open at the topand has no way of closing. Therfore, I go to sit dow in the car, and just as I closed the door, I hear the sound of plastic hitting the hard concrete. My heart rushes as I open the door, and much to my dismay, my iPod was laying there face down.
Why did it have to be the iPod? Why not my palm pilot which has the nice metal case that has been through nuclear war and survived?
Anyways, it landed on the corner and got some deep scratches, which really bugs me since it isnt even a week old yet, but it still works great.
