After 3 months I finally got it!
I've been looking for an ipod since before Christmas, and originally I wanted a refurbished from the Apple Store, but they ran out of stock. After a few more missed deals on the classifieds, I found the 5 GB and I got it today in the mail when I came back to my house for lunch. First things first, I got it hooked up and formatted the hard drive.
I've got to say this: firewire is crazy fast! Since I've never used firewire before, I didn't expect to be able to transfer a whole album in 5-10 secs! It took me a few minutes to figure out how to transfer songs using iTunes though...
Anyway, after my months long quest, I'm glad it's paid off!
BTW, how is the battery life on the 5 GB compared to the gen 2 ipods?
