This forum has corrupted and destroyed me
After endless nights of "I'm going to be in bed by 10pm" and still find myself browsing the iPod Lounge forums at 12:30 and 1am...
After extensive "do I really need an mp3 player"...
After reading reviews of midiocre sound quality and battery issues of iPod compared to some others...
After reading reviews of benefits and ease of use of iPod compared with others...
And after tooking at IPods at CompUsa (was there at 6pm when iPod minis went on sale) and liking the mini (but not the 4gb size) then driving to BestBuy, then to Apple outlet store for more looking at iPods vs Mini's, then back to BestBuy...
After all that... I am now a proud father of a 20gb iPod (windows user - bought and paid for. Microsoft own my soul). ...If anyone wants to persuade my why I shouldn't have bought iPod, now is time while in 14 day return period. ;)
I am happy too that got BestBuy to give me 10% off, which all my searching and pricing, is hard to find any specials on the iPod.
Now... to figure out what songs of my 24 gb (7 gb are of Harry Potter books...big fan) collection to put on there...

Pity Harry Potter's not on audible, the bookmark feature is just fantastic. Wouldn't want to listen to a book without bookmarks.

the only problem... and the only reason i dont read on my ipod is that the screen is way too small to read a book from. It strains eyes....

When I ripped Harry Potter, they came out as small track sizes ranging on average of 5-8 minutes each. Still need to work some more on the tags so they appear easier to read on iPod and easier to locate last place left off should I switch to another play list.
Overall, I have been happy with the iPod (as I am with all my new toys). Once I got rid of those horrible earbuds it came with and got good set, sounds much better.
Right now still working on tags of my MP3's. Many came from cds, few came from "questionable" sources ('hem...nuff said), but alot are ones I made from TV. Without starting legal debate, basically I figured if legal to record shows from tv (satellite) for personal use only, my not change channel to music station. To say the least...I HAD no life 6+ years ago as probably recorded close to 1500 songs. In end...tags are a mess and a pain, but this has been a project long time coming.

i was here on ipodlounge around 5pm the day of the release of ipod mini from Compusa.
No one was in line yet, so i decided to stroll over to the laptop section and go online hahaha

It hasn't corrupted you until you buy more Apple products. I can't wait to be corrupted. And if you want the audiobooks, don't forget the one free one from the Audible promo somewhere around here.
