I own an iPod 40GB A1059.

My iPod keeps freezing and flashing 'do not disconnect'.

In the past I have had to wait until the battery is fully drained, then I am able to charge and carry on. This process can often take days.

Every now and then I also get a file with an exclamation point when I plug into my USB. After this occurs, the iPod frezzes and flashes 'do not disconnect'.

There is alos a thin line below the battery gauge, and above the flashing 'do not disconnect' symbol.

I have tried resetting, by holding the menu and select buttons down and toggling hold on and off. I have also tried resetting by holding down play/pause and menu and toggling hold off and on, as well as all other combinations of menu / select / togggle, select / play / toggle.

Any suggestions?
