1 computer, 2 hard drives, 2 ipods set up help

I use a pc with windows xp and have a 4G ipod mini and just got the video 80 gig as a gift. I have not used the 80 gig ipod yet. I enjoy my music uncompressed and am planning on buying an external hard drive (likely western digit mybook) to hook up to my cmputer to allow me the space needed to rip all my cds uncompressed for use with the 80 gig ipod. I'd still like to use my 4G for the gym (with my compressed playlists), being its smaller & I won't be as upset if it gets damaged at the gym etc. Any advice on how to set the itunes libraries and ipods up so that I don't make a "setting up" mistake I'll regret? One plus for putting both libraries on the external hard drive is right now, my itunes library is being backed up as part of my work back up. I'd like to keep my backup jobs separate, but right now the itunes is under "my documents" folder and my work backup program backs up the entire "my documents" folder. If its too confusing to put both libraries (4 G and 80 G) on the external hard drive, can I move my original itunes library that goes with the 4 G outside of "my documents" so it doesnt get backed up with my work? I haven't tried this yet, as my library is bigger than the 4 Gig, and Im afraid of loosing it. Would you recommend moving the initial library to the external as well, or easier if I keep on the internal hard drive. Thanks for the help. skyfox.
