I am no fan of Imus but CBS handled it badly too, firing the guy in the middle of his Leukemia Telethron. Really pandering to Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson, no saints themselves. So if the contract says, must warn-b4r-firing, and they didn't do that, serves CBS right.

i think this whole imus thing really got blown out of proportion but most stuff does now thanks to the media...if he wins forty million dollars we will never hear the end of it

The US "news" media has an attention-span of a 5-year-old; it won't take more than a few days (assuming all is quiet) before they'll be looking for the next "shocking" event. If something unusual (but not necessarily important) happens, they'll be over it in a day.

This is insane. Being politically correct has taken all the fun out of living in america. I came here with the hope of street paved of gold, you can make it there you can make it anywhere, and most importantly calling people names.

Legally, from what was said about the contract, it's pretty clearly in his favor, regardless of the ethics or political correctness involved.

I really hope he wins the case. I am sick and tired of people needing to walk on egg shells just because of certain people who are hungry for attention. What Imus said might have been innapropriate but Jessie jackson got away with saying Heimy Town? And how about Al Sharpton's fabricate Tawana Brawly case? Give me a break. These hippocrates have got to go!
