Leopard?!
Selling my iMac G4 and buying a Intel iMac probably mid march although I hear Leopard is being released late/end march and I'm assuming it would come pre-loaded on all mac's starting soon after that so do you guys think it would be in my best interest to wait until the end of march beginning of april?

Basically I'd rather wait two or three weeks and get Leopard/iLife 07 instead of having to purchase/upgrade so soon after my purchase of the new machine

Well I'm selling the G4 regardless today so let's hope I have the will power not to go buy it anyway ahh
17" 1.25 GHz 512 Ram G4 to a 20" 2.16 GHz 1GB Ram Intel is making me just wanna say #### it and go buy it but ill save myself a few hundred in the long run so ill wait ugh...

Apple usually offers an OS upgrade to folks who buy a new 'puter "just before" a new system release (otherwise sales would dive based on rumors from places like ThinkSecret). IIRC, the time period is usually one month -- eg. buy an iMac on March 3; Leopard comes out on March 28; you get a free upgrade to Leopard.
But of course you'll only know about this after the fact, so it does you no good right now when you're gettin' a Jones for the new Mac ;-)
P'bly can't hurt to keep in mind that ThinkSecret -- and all the other sites speculating about end of March -- are just guessing. They're looking at past timelines of developer seeds, dribbles of info from anyone they can get two words out of...I wouldn't go to the bank (or to the Apple Store) based on an end-of-March prediction (Leopard would have to be finished in under 10 days to meet a March 31 release).
If you're going to pin your hopes on anything, play it safe and figure WWDC07 (June 11)

I'd say it's worth waiting... as it will save you a few hundred dollars in upgrades! I'd just keep your G4 for the couple of extra weeks until Leopard is released.

btw never really trust apple rumor sites apple said it will be released in spring that could be up to june 10th:eek:

Although computers do depreciate in value, they don't (usually!) depreciate $200 in a couple of weeks!

June :-( noooo haha I deff don't have that much will power 1gb of ram and 2.16 GHz not to mention 3 more ibches of screen r too powerful haha how much would it cost to upgrade its $90 right
