Laptop destroyed: dare I plug iPod into new laptop?

I have no backup for the 800 songs on my Nano.

I have downloaded iTunes on my new laptop.

Dare I try to transfer these tunes -- many purchased from iTunes -- onto the new laptop?

Will iTunes wipe-out the songs I've purchased from another laptop?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Now, assuming you have all your songs on your nano, it is quite possible to transfer the songs from your nano to your new laptop. You can use copypod for doing this. Once you have transferred all your songs onto your new laptop, i think you should be able to manage the rest.
