Phantom Podcast

For the past week or so, whenever I sync my iPod I get an error about a podcast that "was not copied to the iPod because it could not be found."

Said podcast does not appear in the list of podcasts in iTunes.

When I edit my "iTunes Music Library.xml" file I can see the entry for said podcast in that file, but as I said, it doesn't show up in iTunes.

I tried deleting it from the XML file, but it came back next time I opened and closed iTunes.

The Location value for this podcast is kind of funky:

file://localhost/D:/Craig's Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads/Podcasts/Planet Xbox 360 Podcast - February 1.tmp/download.mp3

I tried copying an existing file to the specified location, but that didn't help either.

Anyone run into this? I've Googled and searched the forum and can't find anything that sounds like this issue. I'd really like to get rid of the entry so it stops warning me every time I sync. Yes, I could check the box that says "Don't warn me", but I'd rather solve the problem than hide it.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Did you check the itunes folder for the "download" folder and delete it? Every time you download from iTS it creats one for each file and it is titled 'downloads'.
