Playing Protected AAC audio Files
I am really new to Ipods and all Mp3 players. I just bought my first nano and have been playing around with it and doing ok in figuring out how it all works for the most part.,
The CDs I imported into itunes on my Mac were transfered to the nano and play OK. These song's properties has them listed as AAC audio files.
A couple of other songs I purchased from itunes store and down loaded into itunes play Ok on itunes only. They show up on the nano when I transfered them over, but they won't play. When I pick the song to play, it kicks me back to the main menu. These files have the "protected AAC audio files" tag to them.
All my music is legal and this is the only nano to ever be hooked up to this Mac.
How do I get these protected files I downloaded from itunes to play on my Nano?
Thanks

Welcome. Whenever you purchase content from the iTunes store you must make sure it is authorized before transferring it to the iPod. Click on a iTS song in iTunes and when the box opens requesting you input your username + password do so and then re-transfer the songs to the iPod and they will play.
