no space on mac to put tunes into itunes?
okay so here's the thing..
i got my folder of all my songs on my windows pc transferred to the desktop of my mac. i tried to add the folder as a whole, and it wouldn't let me, something about being too much songs for the space..
and now i need help! i am trying to put songs on 1 by 1, and folders a few at a time.. but it is time consuming and the songs are all out of order and mixed in with the folders.. any suggestions?
i want them to all just go on and organise themselves out..!
thanks if you can help...

How much space IS free on your disc?i want them to all just go on and organise themselves out..!.Organise themselves out? You wish! :) If things were that simple. But if the songs were properly tagged in iTunes on your PC, then they'll be properly tagged when added to your Mac, no difference there.

Open any window in Finder, available space is noted at the bottom.

If you have copied the songs to the desktop and then trying to add to iTunes, check to see if you have "copy to iTunes music folder" turned on in preferences. If so a copy is made and if you try to add everything at once you are effectively Doubling the library and likely won't have the room.
Turn this option off for now and put the songs in the iTunes music folder and then add the songs to the library. You could then turn the option back on for later.
You can turn on "keep iTunes folder organized" and it will attempt to organize the folder in an artist->album->track file arrangement on the hard drive.
Good luck.
