A general question

My gf just bought her first ipod and wants me to set it for her. I have had my ipod for a few years. I have never plugged another ipod to my computer and library. Will this cause a problem for my ipod, or computer, if I plug her ipod in and add songs to it? I guess I am asking if one computer can be associated with more than one ipod? Thank you

Just plug it in. Your iTunes will keep separate track of individual iPods.

Yes, any number of iPods can work with a single computer/iTunes library. Each iPod's sync/manual settings are native to the iPod, not the computer or the library, so you could, for example, have a video iPod sync your entire library, while an iPod nano syncs only the "gf's music" playlist from the library, and a third iPod is on manual mode (or whatever setup you choose to use). I'd recommend sync-to-playlist for all iPods.
