Cant download podcast

Hi guys,

Having a little trouble getting the latest edition of a podcast from iTunes. iTunes was downloading the podcast automatically earlier today, when an error message alerted me that the download was being stopped because I was out of space on the drive I keep my music on. I clicked OK, and freed up some space on the drive. Now, however, I seem to be unable to finish downloading the podcast. It's showing up faded out under the list with the "Get" button next to it, but clicking on "Get" only seems to make it start to download for a split second before it stops and an exclamation point appears to the left of the file.

I'm trying to figure out why it's doing this; perhaps iTunes thinks it already downloaded the file so it won't do it again? Is there any way I can get it to download? I've tried deleting it from the list, finding it in the iTunes store and downloading if from there, unsubscribing from the podcast and attempting to download it, unsubscribing/resubscribing and then downloading, but I get the same result every time with the exclamation mark and the file grayed out.

The RSS feed for the podcast actually only keeps the latest one, so if I can't figure out how to fix this by Monday I won't be able to get the episode at all. Anyone have any ideas?

# 1 Re: Cant download podcast
I had this problem on a few podcast episodes, it was so frustrating. I solved it by finding the folder named 'Downloads' in my iTunes folder. Within it was another folder named 'Podcasts', which contained separate folders for any podcast subscription with partially downloaded files. I deleted these partial downloads, which iTunes was apparently refusing to resume or write-over on its own. I then tried again to download them in iTunes and voila!

Hey, thanks, that seems to be what was keeping it from downloading. What I actually ended up doing was downloading it through iTunes on a friend's computer, then putting it on a flash drive and dragging it into iTunes (iTunes seemed to recognize that it had been downloaded as a podcast through iTunes, so it added it to my podcasts section in the right place). But if I ever have this problem again, I'll know just to clear out that folder.
