Convert ID3 Tags?

What does this Convert ID3 Tags in itunes for? i need help with it..its under advanced...how and why would i use this?

There are several formats for ID3 tags; that menu item lets you switch formats. Basically, if you don't already know that you need it, you don't need it ;-) The mechanics of it are described in iTunes Help (search for "convert id3 tag"). You can learn about ID3 tag formats at wikipedia or google.S2

I think a wise man said "Stick with ID3 v2.3 for the time being"Newer (v2.4) isn't always better.
