Moving iTunes from PC to Mac

So, right now I have iTunes running on my main computer which is a Windows XP PC. My work just bought me a MacBook Pro (way cool) and I would like to sync my iPod with it instead. Can i get all my Podcasts, audio books, self ripped (legal), and purchased music on to the MacBook using the iPod alone? I could do it via Samba but it would be over a wireless connection and with the size of my library I think that would be too much.

Thoughts?

you can just load it from your iPod using something like Senuti, provided that all of your stuff is on your iPod. Otherwise it means either connection over a network, using an external drive or burning cd/dvd's to make the transfer work. Welcome to the mac side of life!

If you can easily recreate the stuff on your iPod, you could use iTunes to empty it out (or at least free up significant space), set it to hard drive mode (the General pane of the iPod window in iTunes), and do a couple-three sneaker nets to move your files onto the Mac.

iTunes will only pull off purchased tunes. You still need something else to pull the non-purchsed songs from the iPod
