backing up to disc
I think I am going to back up my library to discs because I only have a copy on my ipod and I don't want anything to happen but I was wondering if it works only DVD Cds? I don't have any of those, I have regular ones. I think it'd work the same just would take more cds to do it but I'm not sure.

Yes, you can use CD-Rs. Be sure to use iTunes' "Back up to Disc" feature. It will remember which songs have been backed up, and will only back up new ones the next time you do it.

So I started backing up my songs, pretty easy my question now is if I add a new song and want to add it to the last disk w/ space how do I do that?
# 3 Re: backing up to disc
just do another back up i do it every time i add an album or anything i don't have a hard copy of
20GB's took 6 DVD-R so i end up with some old useless discs but i always have a good back up and i make sure i put the date right on the disc so i know which one is the latest one

When I try to add a new song to the last cd with space it says it needs a blank cd, is there anyway to put it on the same cd?

No, because iTunes will "close" the discs when it is done burning them.

what format does it backup in? mp3 or propietary itunes? I mean, if I want to lend the disc, will they be able to read it?

It backs it up in whatever format the song is on the iTunes. Not sure about the lending though.
