Hey moderators!

:)
Hi guys.
Do you ever wonder how people seem to be able to set the lock on their machine by accident? And then come here to ask how to unlock it? In there first ever post. Doesn't that ever seem strange and make you think that the reply ought to be "The answer is in the manual'. It does seem that this forum could be a useful resource for the less 'scrupulous'.
Some of the 'how do I get my music from my iPod to my computer?' questions strike me as 'interesting'. Especially the ones with a BIG build up as to why the guy wants the answer.

While we obviously would never condone unscrupulous behaviour, we generally try to avoid making value judgements concerning our membership and their motivations. I would personally rather take people at face value, to be fair. :)

Obviously threads containing questions that are blatantly illegal or immoral in nature will be removed (and have been in the past), but as long as there are potentially legitimate reasons to ask a question it is really not our place to censor such discussions, as those sort of value judgements lead us down a slippery slope.

Fair enough. But how about a big fat bold flashing sticky for the big questions:
How do I transfer iPod to PC/Mac?
How do I unlock?
My iPod has frozen?

Could save a lot of repetition and thus save the planet. Of course if folk can't be bothered to search or check FAQS then maybe there'll be no point.

Don't think it hasn't been tried. The reality is that all of the information is available through a myriad off sticky posts, announcements, searches, etc. The fact is that most people don't actually bother to look for the information when it's far easier to just post a question.

Yep. I know that one. Maybe I'll just chill and keep pointing them in the right direction. With the sarcasm notched down a tad.:)
