iPod does not list album tracks in correct order

I put an entire album into iTunes and it lists all of the tracks in the correct order. I transferred the album to my iPod (video), and looking at the iPod's contents through iTunes the tracks were still in the correct order. However, after disconnecting the iPod and going into the album on there, one track that should be in the middle is listed at the end. I've tried taking the track out and re-transferring it, re-checking the track and disc #s, but nothing seems to work.

Has this happened to anyone before? Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks!

Check your ID3 tags. You should update them to version 2.3. Look at the Artist attribute. Depending on how you have them tagged and what sort order you're using in iTunes, you could be seeing differences in iPod based on that.

Same thing was happening to me a while ago. Go into your library and make sure that the Album Artist for all of the tracks on the album are exactly the same; otherwise iTunes may confuse it and reshuffle the tracks by Album Artist. Or atleast that's how I solved my problem. Good luck to you.

I wouldn't even bother trying to compare Artist tags. Just mark them all in itunes, right-click and say "get info". Put the artist name you want in the artist tag, and they'll all be set to the exact same thing. Since they're now all the same (and iTunes set them that way), they should match up on the iPod.
