Harddrive crashed, anyway to get movies back?

My harddrive crashed and I got my new laptop back today. I put the songs and my photos on it with no problem with copypod. However, before I sync my ipod to my new computer, is there anyway to get my movies and music videos onto my ipod? Thanks

Get copypod.

Did you even read what they wrote? They already have copypod.

...is there anyway to get my movies and music videos onto my ipod?

Are your looking for 3rd party software that can add videos to the iPod? Most (YamiPod, Floola, SharePod, PodPlayer, CopyPod, ect.) can extract videos from the iPod, but I don't know if they can add them onto the iPod.

Just use iTunes.

Use Windows search function to search the iPod for the movie files (search for *.m4v, *.mp4 and *.mov). Then when its finished finding them drag them from the search window to your desktop. Presumably there are not as many movie files as music files, so you can more easily rename them once you have sorted them out from the music files.

As far as I know there is no software out there, free or otherwise, that specifically removes movies from the iPod.

Comparison of iPod Managers ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_iPod_Managers)

List of iPod managers, both free and purchase, and what each has the capability of doing.

Sorry about that!!
I guess i didn't read it completely. As for transferring data from your iPod to PC, you can do it manually if you know what to do, that is. I have done it once, but the only problem is apple's funny way of renaming songs.

I think that is THE whole problem. He is not able to transfer the data back to his iPod via iTunes.

No the problem is I am not able to transfer my movies that are currently on my ipod back onto either my itunes or my harddrive. How do you take stuff off your ipod manually? Thanks

I am a little confused, but Just do a search on your computer, targeting your Ipod for .xxx's of your files you want. Save them to recognizable folders.

Didn't I just answer you in my post above?

I tried doing this, I went to my computer, selected my E drive, which is showing Brett Nuss, my ipod name. It shows four folders calendars, contacts, notes and photos. I then clicked search and did three separate searches for the *.m4v and instantly it said no results were found.

Ok, the problem is you need to do two things. 1. You need to enable your hidden files option to expose file on your ipod called "Control". This is a hidden file. Highlight this file to search it for the files you are looking for. This is were they are stored. 2. You also need to (when you do this search) allow your search engine to invade or search your hidden files. it wont do this by default. You can really do this by just enabling the seach hidden file function for your files, but i want to make sure you have this file on you ipod.

I forgot about the hidden files - I always have mine unhidden. But this is the only way I know to get the movies off the iPod.

I am with you. There is no other way that I know of.
