Moving pictures ?
Think every picture is static, we call a moving picture a Film or Video ;-)

The correct jargon is Animated Gifs. U can always do a Gif -> Mp4 conversion.

iPods do not support animated GIF files, they only support static GIFs. That is why they appear as a still image when you sync them to your iPod, it just can't play animated GIF files. The reason for this is that the iPod cannot directly display image files. Instead, iTunes converts them to photo book files (or similar files) before sending them to the iPod. It does this as most users will want to sync high resolution (>3MP) images with their iPod, these images would take up a lot of space so iTunes converts them down to 720X480 images to save space. iTunes will convert animated GIF files for iPod viewing but it will only convert the first frame.

Hence, you will have to do what bobb-mini suggested: use a conversion to go from animated GIF files to a mpeg-4 video. You can find software that does this by entering the term "GIF to mpeg-4" in Google.
