css encryption

about a month ago when i purchased my new apple computer i purchased the popcorn software upon the recomendation of the sales person at the apple store. unfortunately, ever dvd i own can't be used because of the css encryption. am i doing something wrong? how can i put my own dvd that i've legally purchased onto my new laptop hard drive?

You need to look at a program that is designed specifically for this purpose. Note that the legality of using such a program may vary in different jurisdictions, but such programs are available.

Popcorn, if you read the fine print, clearly states that it will not process protected DVDs. Roxio would not be able to get away with selling such a product in the U.S. due to the DMCA, which makes it illegal to use technological means to remove and/or circumvent copy protection methods such as CSS encryption.
