Modding Phones

Do people mod phones like they do with ipods with Linux? I'm just wondering if anyone has been able to put a form of iTunes or a music player on a non itunes phone.

oh yeah! yer kidding? HERE (http://www.motox.info/). Can't put iTunes into a non-iTunes phone, YET.

PLUS, current phones don't have USB2.x interface yet (upload so slow, fergitaboutit), and can't play anything better than 192 kb/s, and will u be happy with 4 hr play time when your POD now lasts all day?

Wait for the iPhone.

Well it depends on what a non-iTunes phone is. I used to have the link to a site where you can install iTunes on any Moto phone (i think...LOL)..well at least it has like the V3 and the L7. My SLVR doesn't have iTunes so I might install it there.

The link supplied's bold heading says "...compactible(sp) with most iTunes mobile phones..."

I strongly suggest making SURE u can flash iTunes to a non-iTunes phone. (Non-iTunes phone = a phone that did not, originally come with iTunes).

The link supplied is a mod to an iTunes phone (already came with) to break the 50-100 songs limit.

Don't blame me if you BRICK it.

There ya go. I have an unlocked Moto L7 SLVR that didn't come with iTunes and it works like a charm now.

Cool. Can we say then this mod only works for the SLVR, and no other phone, for now?

Well I'd assume it would work for other Moto phones of the same interface and structure and whatnot...

Whoever wants to try it, go ahead and tell us how it goes. I'd assume it'd work for the RAZR too if it can connect to the computer (which it probably can).

That would be the wrong assumption.

As far a watching video, your cellphone would have to accept a memory module, with 1 GB+, then the screen will have to be no smaller than the current iPod's size, anything smaller, and lets just call it a fad.
