That's pretty cool! I was amazed how cheap it was...until they threw in that part about having to use a Nike+ show. have no idea what a Nike+ shoe is, but it sounds expensive!

How many of these will be bought and then tossed into the bin when exercise becomes too much like hard work?

Running outside is cheaper than a treadmill?
# 6 Re: Apple and Nike...
Oooh I might get this!
Pretty interesting.
# 7 Re: Apple and Nike...
Odd concept I think...Nike and Apple's the least obvious partnership in my mind...Maybe they should release an iPod podometer for everybody.
# 8 Re: Apple and Nike...
Not all that odd though. Well maybe the shoe that tracks your steps. But a while back Nike teamed up with Diamond Rio or one of those earlier companies and had a Nike MP3 player with an armstrap marketed towards runners and gym bunnies.

Some more details about the shoes have been posted on the iLounge main page:

looks pretty cool and it's just that only.
# 11 Re: Apple and Nike...
I'm not a big fan. Personally, I like to think I've run for a longer distance than what I probably have, and I don't appreciate anyone, or anything, telling me differently! :D
# 12 Re: Apple and Nike...
Apple and that company with the history of exploiting kiddie labor in bed together. I never would've thunk it, but I guess values and standards change, eh Apple?

# 18 Re: Apple and Nike...
Well excuuuuuuse me! :)
# 19 Re: Apple and Nike...
The team up with Nike is old news, but I don't think they said before today exactly what it was going to do. This sounds pretty cool! If I ran I would definitely check it out, I wonder if it would work in rollerblades? Would be nice if you could get just the sensor and put it in your existing shoes (or skates..) but it doesn't sound like Nike is gonna do that. :(
# 20 Re: Apple and Nike...
you could take off the sensor, its possible
# 21 Re: Apple and Nike...
Great news.....now I've got to get my music playlist for working out organised and ready when the Nike+iPod system hits the stores.

# 24 Re: Apple and Nike...
Is the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit for the U.S. and Canada only?
It still hasn't appeared for pre-order in the Australian Apple Store...
# 25 Re: Apple and Nike...
Does anyone know if this is only compatible with the iPod Nano? I already have one with a dock connector and would rather use the iPod I alreay own...
