The O.C. season finale (may contain spoilers!)
NOTE THAT THIS POST CONTAINS INFORMATION ABOUT THE SEASON FINALE OF THE O.C.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING(PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT TIME ZONE) THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS!
Alright so I just finished watching the season finale of The O.C. here on the east coast.
The only thing I can say is:eek: WOW!!! Marrisa died in a car accident. Basically she was driving with Ryan and Volcheck was drunk and really ####ed. Volcheck decided to go and ram Ryan and Marissa off the road. Ryan and Marissa's car flipped off the road onto a lower road. Ryan took Marrisa out of the car and then the car BLEW UP:eek:
The epsidode ends with Ryan holding Marissa in his arms and Marrisa is very bruised up. She starts saying a few words but then she finally stops talking and does NOT RESPOND TO RYAN!
I have not heard anything about a cast member leaving the show, but Mischa Barton leaving would be a real big shocker!
Post your comments about this year's season finale and what you think is going to happen next season, which could also be the last.

Just gave it away... Whatever through. The O.C wasn't very impotant to me though...

My husband thinks she's actually not dead...but I don't think they would have done that dramatic Ryan carrying her thing with flashbacks and Imogen Heap singing "Hallelujah" if she weren't dead. I can't imagine what they're gonna do now.

Meh... I've never really got into the OC, but I've added a "(may contain spoilers!)" to the topic title for anyone that is.

During the last bit of the finale, Imogen Heap sang a haunting cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". It doesn't seem to be available on itunes. Does anybody know where I can get this song?

an awful lot of breathing going on there...

thanks bdb...and you're right, there is an awful lot of breathing going on there. It doesn't replace Jeff Buckley's version as my favorite cover, but I like it. Great song.

Ooh, not sure I like that version at all, much as I admire Imogen Heap. Rufus Wainwright did a far superior cover of that song for the original Shrek movie, maybe even better than Buckley's.
Now I don't watch the OC, so I don't know what happened exactly, but I doubt a prime-time soap would go the daytime soap route with the 'she was never really dead even though you saw the body.' In any case, with Mischa Barton's deplorable acting skills, it can't be a great loss. Can it?

UPDATE:
Mischa Barton is really leaving the O.C. to pursue her movie career.

"Jump the shark" is a reference to Happy Days; specifically the episode that Fonzie jumped a shark on water skis. That is considered to be the point that the show went downhill.
