latest firmware

Sometimes in posts and along the way I see a reference to having the "latest firmware". Is this something that is checked and updated through iTunes?

The latest firmware is downloaded from Apple: http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/You can choose to Update your iPod which is like an upgrade to its software, all files on your iPod remain intact.
Or, you can choose to Restore, which erases all your songs and files, and resets settings to factory defaults.

yes, first get the update and plug in your ipod. double click on the firmware file wherever you have it and just follow the directinos, mithra pretty much summed it all up.ArtDamage911 at 2007-11-15 14:25:51 >
