Video encoding programs
Hi,
I downloaded videora, and have to say, I am distinctly unimpressed with the video (1 frame per minute is totally rubbish)
Does anyone know any programs that encode to the correct size and format straight from a dvd?
Ideally for free!
cheers

I dont know for sure about the "straight from a dvd" part.
But I know you can export movie to iPod (320x240) with QuickTime Pro! :)

I decided to upgrade my quicktime to pro...
Although I did find out AFTER doing that, that divx doesnt produce a codec that runs with the windows version of quicktime.
I have AVI's encoded using DivX and they just play with no sound or picture.
I am trying some progs that encode a dvd vob to an uncompressed avi, but dont really have any idea of decent, and free programs.
I am giving a program called DVD-TO-MPEG a go, but this is just a trial I believe.
I do have NeoDivX, which is a great prog for ripping and encoding, but this only works using its own DivX codec, and doesnt seem to like using other uncompressed codec types

I've had good luck with Videora but I'm not crazy about the multiple conversion process (i.e. DVD Decryptor to AutoGK to Videora.
I plan to try out DVD to iPod. The product hasn't been released yet but I emailed them earlier this week and they said development was complete and that they were just waiting to receive a video iPod to test it on. They said it may be released next week. The link is http://www.makayama.com/
