Video not working on iPod ? Heres solution ... with Proof

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you.

Well since I had the same problem before, and I see that lots of people still can't get the video to work on iPod, here's a solution.

Download Videora iPod Converter
http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

and for the Output "Quality Profile", you must select
SP/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps

It took me about 2~3 hour to rip a DVD.
and 25 minutes to rip 30 minutes long WMV file.
Here's some pics ...

Rarrr. Who's the sexy person in the reflection :).

I am in the process of re-encoding from h.264 to sp as we speak, only 17 movies left to convert! about maybe 14 hours worth of encoding to complete. Let's hope it works.

thanks for the link! but, it doesn't work for me for some reason. *sighhh* is there some trick that you need to do? i put the settings like you said. it plays on my itunes, but nothing will play on the actual ipod. this is very frustrating.

i'm tempted to just get quicktime pro, but not only is the $30 cost annoying, the apple tech guy said it would take about 7 hours to convert one dvd! that's craziness... has anyone had better luck with other programs?

How do you move them over to iTunes once you run them through Videora or such programs? Is there anything anyone can think of that might be the problem? The conversion works fine, but I tried to click and drag that video into iTunes (video section) and it wouldn't work. I have downloaded videos that work in the iPod, but I can't even get my videos to play in iTunes. HELP PLEASE

Have you added a file like you would do for an MP3?
File --> Add file to libary
Thats the way I added them to Itunes and it worked fine.

Same problem with me  It is in itunes and plays on itunes just fine but it won't go into the ipod at all! I noticed for Videora, there were a lot of places to change the "SP" settings...on the main tab, then on the "profile tab", then on more tabs. Which is the most important to change? I changed all of them already.

Oh yes, I had no problem getting a file playable on itunes (even though it won't go into my ipod), but I've had absolutely no luck trying to get a working file from a vcd file, which I really wanted more than anything.

Does anyone know the exact file extensions videora is capable of supporting? I assume it can't support vcd files.

Will video play back on an ipod if I use a SP setting that is less than 768 kbps (for example, SP/320x240/512kbps Stereo/96kbps)?

Sorry Im new to this, but you guys keep talking about

SP/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps

I cant find that what is the sp, I only have this

mpeg-4/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps.

I convert them following the instructions, Ive dragged and droped the file in itunes, Ive added new File nothing works, it will play in itunes but wont even go on the ipod.

with videora convertor 0.81 SP is renamed to mpeg-4 so your coverted files should work. have you tried dragging them with your mouse from your video directory to the ipod in itunes? it should transfer just fine. you'll have to wait a few seconds before the video starts, it isn't as fast as music file.
the only thing not working right now with third party applications are h.264 encoded videos...
with your own profiles you can make ipod compatible videos with 1,85:1 (use 320x180) and 2,35:1 (use 320x136) aspect ratios:

Here is what happens, I converted a movie with the settings everyone said.

I tried add file to library then update ipod, nothing the video doesnt go on the ipod.

I tried dragging the video in itunes to the ipod and I get a black circle with a line through it , basiaclly telling me Its a no go.

I tried from windows explorer grabed the video draged it into itunes update and nothing.

I tried windows explorer grabbed the video and put it on the ipod icon and had the black circle again.

The dang video plays in itunes but the ipod wont take it.

hm, it should work with your settings, although up to now I've only used the profile 384kbps and 96kbps stereo profile for my files. i only had this problem with a file which i tried to convert with the h.264 codec.

did you use oneclick transcode in videora. i don't know if this is using the profile you selected under new transcoding. maybe you should try the "transcode new video" button, select your file, THEN change the profile and push start.
