Using a non-iPod player with iTunes - any problems?

Okay, so I have just ordered a non-iPod player (my 3G 30 GB player is to big to carry around in the gym). My question is - is it usually easy to use iTunes with a non iPod player? Connecting, transferring tracks etc?

there's a utility called badapple (w w w . b a d f r u i t . c o m ) that supposedlydoes this. i don't think it works with itunes5 though. you may want to check their forums.coffee at 2007-11-15 16:34:35 >

If all your tracks are in MP3 format, you can always go into your library directory and just drag and drop the tracks onto your player. If they're in AAC format, you'll have to convert them to MP3 format, or skip over those tracks. Josh
