Using a non-iPod player with iTunes - any problems?
Okay, so I have just ordered a non-iPod player (my 3G 30 GB player is to big to carry around in the gym). My question is - is it usually easy to use iTunes with a non iPod player? Connecting, transferring tracks etc?

i don't think it's possible iTunes was programmed to recognize the iPod only. i gues syou'll have to use the software that comes with the player.

Okey, thanks. So all you have to do is drag and drop the tunes you want from iTunes to your new player?

there's a utility called badapple (w w w . b a d f r u i t . c o m ) that supposedlydoes this. i don't think it works with itunes5 though. you may want to check their forums.

If all your tracks are in MP3 format, you can always go into your library directory and just drag and drop the tracks onto your player. If they're in AAC format, you'll have to convert them to MP3 format, or skip over those tracks.
