Contour Design Showcase Sport
According to Contour Design's site, the new Showcase Sport is supposed to ship today.
I love my regular Showcase, though wish it was more iTrip compatible. I'm hoping this is one of the changes with the Showcase Sport.
Is anyone planning on getting one? Any chance you could post a mini-review on the forums? :)

If any of us ever get them (:mad: Contour!!) I'm sure we would. This is now what the third time they delay the ship date?

It's getting kind of old waiting for countour to start shiping the new showcase sports. I pre-ordered one about a month ago, and even the website now acts like they're shipping them, it says limited edition and the price is two dollars more than when I paid for mine. I'm just hoping it will come monday. If it does I'll be sure to give a mini-review. I have the regular showcase and it's awsome. I expect the sport will be basically the same just thinner.

Mine arrived today, a day earlier than Fedex originally thought.
It is 0.2" thinner than my old Showcase, which makes an enormous difference in how it feels in your hand and pocket. Math tells me it is only 20% thinner, but it feels half the size to me. It is also 0.05" narrower due to the lower profile latch. The bottom (dock) opening is the same shape as the earlier case but is larger. The top opening now spans nearly the entire width of the iPod. At first glance the top opening looks narrower, but it is bordered only by rubber and not the hard plastic so the opening can be made larger.
I dont take mine out of the case much (I synch with the cable), but If I were one who takes it out to dock daily I would be a bit concerned about the new latch. The sliding tabs that hold the latch closed are only held in place by friction, so might loosen up with wear from frequent use.

I got my black Showcase Sport a day early as well and tcristy basically said it all. It feels soooo much smaller than the regular Showcase, and the hole on the bottom is bigger. The fact that the top hole goes almost the whole length makes me think it might work with iTrip or similar, though I don't have any top mounting accessories so I don't really know for sure. If anyone does please let me know. I'm thinking about getting an iTrip. I think this, along with the power support wheel film, is the perfect case. It's also really nice that you can see the engraving on the back. I would definitely recommend it.
