The search for the ULTIMATE CASE(S)!

I am on the serach for the ultimate case. Leaving your ipod with no scratches or dents. These are the ones I have looked at so far.

-Marware TrailVue (not completely protective especailly around the corners)
-XtremeMac Leather Deluxe (the plastic I have been told marks/scratches the ipod)
-Matias iPod Armour (What about the top of the iPod!!)
-STM Cocoon (Nobody has a pocket that big!)
-Vaja Case (No, I do not live in a mansion!)

Does anybody have any favourite/worst cases they can recommend?
Wheel caps are they any good?

So pretty much I need a new case which fully protects my (precious) iPod.

Many Thanks!

I would say iSkin protects it from dents, but I don't know about scratches. The circle imprint on the back is pretty nasty and I can't get it off.

I haven't tried the Wheel caps, but I have tried the iPoDonut, which is overpriced and ...does it's work I guess.

I use a Lajo skin at the moment and it leaves gigantic greasy marks on the iPod and streches very easily. Cheap and nasty!

I have to agree with this, I just got mine yesterday for my 60gb, and it's loose, and the "ishade" it came with is a joke. I'm very disapointed with it. Plus it gets lint and cat hair all stuck to it.

I plan on purchasing the vaja ivod dj in the future.

What about the protection around the top of the iPod? Are there any cases which have better protection and are cheap?

I use the Agent18 ClickShield which is hardly bigger that the iPod itself, then I place that in a soft case.

Does it scratch the iPod when you take it out? Does it protect the top much? Is it nice to hold?

Many thanks!

i use a Belkin sporting case good for the 3rd generation and 4 generation iPod.there are like rubber grips on the side, it has a opening at the bottom allowing for the USB/Firewire cable to get on. Very good in my opinion does not damage the iPod in any way because it's fabric. However the plastic on the front sometimes sticks to the screen and can't view my photos that well. another thing is the plastic on the front reduces the sensitivity of the click wheel so i have to press a little harder when i use it.

I use the Contour Showcase. It's a good case, kinda bulky, but offers great protection. Looks sleek too. Doesn't protect everything.. so you gotta buy the wheel cap. :)

I also use the contour showcase, it's a great case, It doesn't protect the iPod fully... there are some scratches around the clickwheel...but like ocmeister said, it's best to get a clickwheel cap... My ipod fell four times already and still works great...

I used the vaja and didn't mind the top being open. After a year I still don't have scratches on the top. It depends on what you want, though.

I love my Incase Folio. looks nice, very strong clip, practical and doesn't scratch the iPod.

I use the Contour Showcase which is a great case. i combine mine with the power support click wheel cover for total protection. The case looks very nice, but requires cleaning for the white one. i would say get the black with some kind of click wheel cover and you will be good to go.

iSkin is a very good case, I've got no additional scratches or dents on my iPod from using an iSkin eVo 2.

I have a Pacific Design Flip Case. I like it a lot. It works great and pertects all of the ipod (unlike the marware trailVUE) but still has really easy access to the controls. It's pretty slim for an ipod case. And if you order it online and pick it up at the store, it's 25 bucks at curcuit city.
Great Case!

20 gb click wheel, 2500 songs
