iPod Shuffle Deal...Yes or No?

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Hey everyone,

A good friend of mine has decided to move away from here, and he told me he'd sell his like new 512MB iPod Shuffle for $55 to me. I haven't had much experience with iPod shuffles as I am a 60GB iPod user.

The money is not a problem, but I just need some opinions from current shuffle users to tell me the pros / cons of the shuffle.

I'm thinking to use this more for transferring word documents and such from my computer to my schools computer, as we use computer A LOT during the day (5 of the 8 hours there) and listen to it when I have time. Is the shuffle good at doing that kind of stuff, transferring files and such?

Thanks in advance.

if the USB ports on the computers you are using are recessed or angled (some dell models) then you will either have to use the ports on the back or bring a cable since the shuffles wide case can prevent it from fully seating in these 2 cases. its not that fast for a flash drive, and you would be able to get a good 512mb thumb drive for around $35. if you think you might start to like it and adopt it as an mp3 player, then yes it would be worth it. if it is going to serve as more of just a thumb drive, then no it won't.

No, I know for a fact all of the USB ports in the computers my school are in a 'straight' position, I've put in his shuffle in there for him once so he could open a presentation, and it worked. I was thinking to use this as my school mp3 player...sometimes I'm not comfortable bringing my 60GB iPod to school..you know?

then yes, i would say its a good deal and it sounds like it will be a good investment. you may even find your 60gb starts collecting dust like others have.
