mad about the video ipod.? Look at this!
i know many people are really mad that the video ipod is not released as early as the nano.
me too. but do you know that there is something bad about the video ipod.?
the video ipod runs on a hard disk. as we all know from previous experiences that when people always drop their ipod, the hard disk will eventually spoil. i've had this experience before, that is why i bought the ipod nano. the storage for the video ipod might be so much bigger than the nano, but the video resolution still, loses to creative and the PSP.
i hope that everyone would wait for a better ipod to be released, which is not running on a hard disk as we would not know when a better ipod might come out again.
stay with your nano. it as good as the video ipod.! i'm sure you won't need to have a video on the go.? its just an extra right.?
if i'm wrong. please correct me. but is eminem on the new ipod ad.? do you think there will be a eminem ipod.? if there really is, i'm sure a lot of people would get it following the release of his greatest hits album. :D

the only reason i'm exchanging my Nano and getting a video iPod is because of the extra 26GB for $50 extra. i have over 90GB of music and to be honest, the Nano just isn't cutting it. i already talked to the department manager at Best Buy and he said i could get store credit for the Nano for up to 30 days and he said the video ipods should be early to middle of next week.

I agree. I believe that for this particular iPod, the video was an add on accessory. Just like the screen lock, games, and clocks, the video function on such a small screen is cool, but only added because they could. I wouldn't spend any long periods of time viewing the relatively small screen (just like I really don't view the pictures on my nano). However, I would not be surprised to see a PSP sized screen on a true vPod sometime in the future. I think the emphasis that Jobs placed on music hinted to the fact that the iPod was not an all around media device. Maybe this is why they decided to just call it the iPod instead of changing the name. A procduct with a new name more tailored to the new iTunes 6 might not be years away.

if that was the case.. why didnt u just get the ipod photo in the first place instead of the nano?

Greg, the new iPod is not primarily video. It is STILL about the music, video is an extra that they decided to put in. That's my opinion of it. About the HDD, what do you expect??? 60 gigs of flash? Do you know how expensive that would be? It is very expensive, 8 gigs is terrible already as far as price. There is almost no way if any that Apple could completely switch to flash and keep their price point in control.
The wide iPod and the nano are basically for two different kinds of people, it all comes down to someone's needs/wants. "Better" may be your opinion, but some people may dislike the nano for it's small amount of space or other things. IMO, they are hard to compare.
BTW you are right about Eminem.

Yup, thats quite true, althought it wouldnt stop me from getting a regular ipod. I had the mini, dropped it a couple of times, pretty hard, and it still worked fine. If an eminem edition ipod came out, you dont know how quick I would go out and get that. But I mean, what would they do? Release one in white? lol. If one was released, Id assume itd just be a black one with his signature on the back. You just gave me reason to start saving up for another ipod :) And for whoever didnt get to see the ad, here you go...
