I've got a 4g 40GB iPod who is my best friend and running partner. I took him for a nice long walk in the rain yesterday. It wasn't raining when I left but 2 miles out of a 4 mile out and back, it poured. He didn't so much as hiccup, but when I got home he was damp. I set him on end to let the water drain out. He was in pretty bad shape last night.

This morning I can get him to mount, I can play, the backlight comes on, but no video (words) on the screen. Last night I had it working fine for awhile but this morning he was back in ICU.

Of course my gut feeling is he'll make a fine removeable hard drive but his days of running with me, reading to me as I commute to and from work, and flying about the country with me are over.

Any ideas?

This might make me have to get a new iPod and you know I'd just HATE for that to happen. (Honestly, I'd rather wait on that and just keep living with Toady.)
