Autofill function for the Ipod mini
I would really like to use the Autofill function which works for the Ipod Shuffle on the Ipod mini...any idea on how to do this?
Is there another way to fill the mini with a completely random selection of songs from iTunes?

An option is to use a smart playlist, and I am going to explain step by step just in case you are a complete n00b at iTunes. :P
1. Create a normal playlist of all the albums and songs you wish to have on the mini (this can be bigger than 4gb, because we will be limiting the size later.) For this explanation I am henceforth going to refer to this playlist as 'iPod Mix'
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+N, which brings up the smart playlist creator thingy.
3. Select 'Playlist is iPod Mix' using the drop down boxes.
4. Check the box for "Limit to.." and then select MB in the drop down box. I would suggest using about 3800/3900, as your mini doesn't actually hold 4 GB.
5. For 'Selected by' use least recently played. You could choose 'random', but then you would be stuck with the same tracks every time. But using 'least recently played', tracks that you don't listen will be cycled onto your iPod and you will get a continuous, changing tracklisting.
Hope this helps. I'm sure there are many "how to fill your iPod randomly' threads around, so search for them if you want a more advanced way of doing it, as I cannot be bothered typing out the instructions for my system of filling, as it would take ages.
