Solar power iPod

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Would anyone be interested in having a solar powered iPod. You would never have to charge your ipod again, it would constanly charge from normal daytime use. Does this sound like a product you would be interested in. Im lookin for feedback to help with product development. Any ideas or sugestion you may have on what the product needs or what would make it better would be appreciated.

Thanks

It would need to be small. Or maybe so that you could put it on your bag or jacket.

Unless the charge time was around 1-2 hours in the sun, I'd say no. A user replaceable battery would be much more nice on the iPod, imo.

It would add bulk and it would crap the ipod's style. Besides most people probably put it in their pocket and the ones that don't but it in a case and wear it around their neck or arm or as a belt clip.
And the only way you would want to position it is on the back. And all the above ways people wear their ipod is with the face up.

If they could develop the technology to make it a lot more efficient than it is today, the amount of working on lithium and fuel cell battery tech is far larger than those on solar projects so progress doesn't come rapidly. Personally, I would love to see this in addition to the standard lithium, for instance just put one small solar cell on the back, take it out for a day then over the course of a day it could store enough charge for maybe 1 - 2 hours of extra life, perfect for lasting you on the return journey till you can get to a power outlet.

Only trouble is will the solar cell be able to collect sufficient solar rays through your pants pocket?, because no eejit is going to leave their ipod in the bright sun all day.

that's what i said. the best way is if the had an accessories that you hooked up to it and it could either hang sepratly or mounted on the back of the ipod.
