Check out archos. In my opinion after looking at reviews theyare the best one out there. Go to there website to find the player right for you and then go to www.amazon.com to check out the reviews

Many are pointing to a new iPod in October or November. They're rumors, so take them however you want.
I personally think an iPod Video is coming very soon, but I don't know for certain (no one does.)
Also, the iAudio X5 seems to have gotten good reviews. It's the only player I have seen so far (but I haven't really looked) that has a vertical orientation and is easily pocketable. It has a smaller screen, but does have external output to hook up to a TV.

The PSP would be a great video player, except for storage. Memory sticks are more expensive than CF or SD cards, and even if you spent $500 on Memory sticks alone you couldn't store nearly as much content as 1 of the dedicated players with hard drives.
If you just want to store some shorter videos or a small number of movies, then a PSP would work great.

There's rumours that Sony is working on either a Flash based or Hard Drive based PSP.

A media event is scheduled for October 12. Take it for what it may or may not be...
