best clip-on style headphones for around 20-30 pound
So, I've given up with in-ear headphones, they all hurt my ears too much. I'm after some decent ones that kinda clip-on if you know what I mean? I had some old JVC ones that were so comfy, but they broke and the sound wasnt amazing. I want something with a good balance of freqs across the range, the problem I've had with this style of earphone is that they dont have as much bass as in-ear. I thought about some Koss ones for around 30 pounds but I cant remember the model.. Any other recomendations?
Cheers

I have a pair of Koss KSC75's I got for $20 US. They are awesome for the price, especially if you use them with a headphone amp like a CMOY.

Cheers for the reply, but whats a "headphone amp like a CMOY"?
Thanks

Oh, sorry. A headphone amp (like a CMOY, for example), is basically a device that gives your headphones a little extra "oomph". The iPod handles headphones at 32 ohms or lower impedance (aka resistance...the lower the resistance, the easier it is for the iPod or other device to drive it), easiest. Many headphones come in 32 ohms or even 16 ohm, but (at least with my experience), higher impedance allows for higher sound quality. The Koss KSC75's have a rating of 64 ohms, so the iPod itself will probably not be able to use them to their full potential. With an amp, you can drive headphones with high impedance ratings. KSC75's sound fine to the average listener, but to an audiophile like myself or anyone that owns powerful headphones, a headphone amp is a necessity if sound quality is of concern.
Sorry for the long explanation. I hope it helped.

cool, thanks for the explanation! Where can I get something like a CMOY in the Uk, and do they eat up batteries like nothing?

Richer Sounds have the Sony MDR-G74SL 'behind-the-neck' for 9.99. You could do a lot worse. Sonically, they're worth double that.

I think the KSC-50's were what you had in mind. That and the Portapro is all that's distributed in the UK. At the prices, neither are terribly special.

Would that hurt your neck? 30 pound headphones on your head would certainly give you neck problems. The one's I have only weigh several ounces. :D
