Earphone outside nuisance
Hi ,
I bought these cool pioneer earphones but my wife keeps complaining that the sound is too loud. What the heck ? I listen to music quite loudly so. Can you please recommend a type that muffles the sound even more from the outside. How about the silicone earphones are they much quieter ? I can't put headphones on my head and walk outside. They ones I have now are from pioneer and look like regular earphones, they are very clear sounding , but the sound travels too much from them to the outside,
Please advise
Thanks
Ralph

I would recommend any in-ear-monitor type of earphones. These earphones go inside your ear canal, and seals the music in and the outside world out. Because of this seal, sound quality improves significantly and allows you to listen at the levels you like without hearing outside distractions, or disturbing others. The most popular IEMs are made by Ultimate Ears, Shure, Etymotic Research, and Westone. Note that these are all higher-to-highest end earphones, so don't expect anything if you're not prepared to spend at least $250. There are however, quite frequent opportunities to get the on sale for a bargain; you just have to find the right site at the right time. I believe Sony and some other lower-end brands make IEM's too, but you'll want to ask around about those since I'm not familiar with them. It would probably be easier to make recommendations to you if you gave us a price range, and also the type of music you mostly listen to. Anyway, hope this helps, and good luck.

I was looking to spend not more that 30 ~ 35 USD for them ...
I saw some from from panasonic (SE-CL20-J2) ... Will these
reduce the sound traveling to the outside aswell, and how about the
sony ones that look similar. I can spend 250 usd on SHURE 's headphones...
