Hi people, im sure a few people in the same boat as me and i would like to know that if you buy an ipod online, can u use the 14-day return policy at a store or do you have to do it through the online store (since the new video ipod has come out), i ordered my ipod on sunday 2nd 9pm (aus time) and came last friday and i heard i have 14 business days to return it if i am "unhappy with my product"

please help guys...and btw i know you'll try to say it doesnt matter, but if i can exchange it, why not.

I really don't think it matters but OK. You can do the return using either a Apple store or online, it doesn't matter. They will charge you a 10% restocking fee though since your iPod has been opened.

thanks kornchild...i am however starting to reconsider, it is thinner, yes and lighter, but the screen is smaller, no firewire, only 2 hours battery life for movies (although 20 for music) and it looks kinda ugly, i prefer the headphone jack in the middle rather than the side.

it depends also...do apple mind if it is scratched (thanks to a dodgey case)?

thanks

Wait... you're telling me that the screen, the screen that you'll be watching t.v. shows on, is actually SMALLER?? What's wrong with this picture? (no pun intended) And no firewire... yikes.

yeah plus there is now space for the remote or anything like that, there is a headphone joack and a hold switch ontop, so no room for air click, remote headphones or nething that uses that secondry little port..but, my bad, very big actually, the screen is bigger, but the click wheel is smaller making it all out of proportion, its starting to look like a big nano, really.

The new 5G iPods have the largest screen ever on a iPod. However, I see you corrected yourself.

I would just hold onto your iPod. The new iPods are nice as they have large screens and are thinner. But the 30GB iPod has the short battery life. The older 20GB iPods lasted longer than the 30GB does when playing music. According to Apple, the 30GB is rated for a 14 hour battery life when playing music and only 2 hours when playing videos.

I normally don't tell people to wait. I normally tell people that, if the iPod you want does everything you want it to do, then get it. I am now telling people to wait a year or two until Apple improves the 5G iPod. I would love to see a 3" 16X9 TFT LCD, a 60GB minimum capacity, and a 36 hour battery life. It will happen, just wait. I have a feeling that Apple will soon (within a 4 year range) just release a iPod PDA type device with internet connectivity (wi-fi), bluetooth, a large LCD with stylus input, and a 100GB capacity.
