Yea, i bought a 20gb colour a month back and now they get this out...Sucks.

If there wasn't much difference i wouldn't be complaining, but it plays videos and is thinner!

So i'm stuck with it for about a year or till it breaks...

Well, I don't think videos are all that important. You have to pay an extremely high price of $1.99 for a music video when many websites offer these for free or you can use QuickTime 7 pro (you have to purchase it) to make your own videos. Sure it is nice and all but you can only get 2 hours of video playback on the 30GB iPod and 3 hours of video playback on the 60GB.

I would wait a year until Apple really perfects this technology. By then they will probably have a 80GB model, one with a widescreen TFT LCD, and could integrate video encoding into iTunes.

Be happy with a 20GB color, you now have the last update to the fourth generation line. Look at the 3G iPods. A lot of people are willing to pay $299 for a 30GB 3G iPod. You can look on eBay and see people selling 2G iPods for the same price as current generation ones.

ecsoroca, you can talk to a return specialist and they should be able to let you return your iPod even though it is engraved. You may hvae to pay the 10% restocking fee but still, if you really feel you NEED a new iPod then complain until you get one.

be happy that you actually have an ipod in the first place....

i love my photo and i wont upgrade it until the course of its life has run out. and when that happens, an even better ipod will most likely be out.

Great post! I've been feeling a little down lately and kicking myself that I didn't wait just one month later to purchase my ipod. But i have to remember that there will always be improvements and upgrades... i'm gonna enjoy my 20gig photo and bide my time...

Yea, his post made me feel slightly better too.

Did you have to buy directly form Apple to be able to return it?
I just got a color Ipod as well (just a few days old) and was wondering if I could trade up.
