advice on returning faulty ipod?
Hi
I believe my ipod is faulty as at random points when listening i get high pitched (almost like dolphin noises?) squeaks through my headphones!!!
My question is, what will happen to my itunes library? Can i just plug in the replacement ipod and it will work normaly and itunes will add all my music or do i have to deauthorise my old ipod first etc etc?
Thanks

The iPod does not have to be authorized only the computer. First, test the ear/headphones your using to see if they're the problem. Then try other ear/headphones with the iPod. If the noises are at random points in a song then it is either the headphones or the songs. See if you hear it with the same songs because you may need to re-rip those songs.
If not then restore the iPod back to its factory settings and then test it to see if the problem continues. You need to test it and see what is causing the problem.

Ok, thanks!
Im pretty sure it's the ipod itself though as it does it with 2 pairs of headphones and at random points on all of my 1023 songs. If i hear the noise then rewind my ipod to the same point the noise isnt there so it is definatly being generated at random.
It sounds like a discharge from a faulty component in the ipod as i have noticed that moving the ipod seems to cause it?!
