cracked click wheel

i recently bought a speck flip stand case for my 30gb ipod photo. the ipod fit loosely into the case so i decided to use the foam that was provided with the case to help cushion the ipod. the foam turned out to be too thick and caused the ipod to get stuck. in the process of trying to get my ipod out of the case the plastic cover of the clickwheel got caught with the case. i didnt notice this until i got the ipod out of the case to discover that the plastic cover of the click wheel was bent out and cracked from its confrontation with the case. i realize that the ipod still functions even without that plastic piece. i have managed to bend the piece back but it is still slightly raised from everything else. i was wondering if there was anything i could do about the crack ie replacement wheel cover, other products, diy solutions.
any help is greatly appreciated.

So is something wrong with the ipod or the case? If it is the ipod it sounds to me like you are going to need another face plate; and since apple wont replace it, you have to! Here are replacement parts: http://www.ipodmods.com/shop/photo-ipod-parts.html . A picture or something would be appreciated too.

from my inspections nothing is wrong with the ipod, just the plastic covering of the click wheel. i hope i wont need a whole new faceplate cause according to that site its another 80 bucks  here are some pics this first one is the of the cracked click wheel
this second pic is a side view, you can see how the plastic cover is raised from the rest of the ipod

I THINK that all 4g faceplates fit the same, but remember with most of them you are replacing the LCD screen too. So get a faceplate that has a color screen. Now as with the chrome back, not all of them fit with others. 20 gig backs cant be used with 30 gig hds, and vice versa.
