whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
the black and the new glossy face is scratch-proned, I managed to put some fine scratches on it just by touching it, and worsen by trying to clean it up with my t-shirt... no problem, some Brasso and polishing and they're gone...
Now I put the protective film back on, until my Invisible Shield arrive. Who else is doing the same thing? :D

off topic but whats the best clear film out there?
# 3 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
do they have any cases coming out for them soon? im tired of this apple sock :D
# 4 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
i just used the $5 hori psp screen protector. had a left over one and cut it in half to cover the screen. thats the only thing im really worried about. works real well and a good replacement till invisible shield comes
# 5 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
I already pre-ordered Invisible Shield for mine. There's a massive thread on it in the Cases->Nano forum and it seems to work well for most people. Although I'm worried about scratching, I'm not sure I'd leave the protective film on. I think I'll just use the Apple case and be extra careful until the IS comes.

invisishield? is this the best one out? where can you buy it and how much... I also heard the EXIM's are real good but quite expensive at about $15 each, and they're from Hong Kong.

Invisishields are ugly mofos and expensive as hell too at $25 each.
I'm just sticking to iPod socks, they look cool and do a great job protecting :)

Ugly? They're practically invisible (haha). I'm pretty sure they're only ugly if you don't put them on right, or if you don't wait long enough for them to "cure" before making your final judgement.
At any rate, here's an installation tutorial:

And here's a bunch of images of a guy who put one on his white nano:

I dare say, it's near invisible :D I'm very much looking forward to trying it out on my black 5G. For those who don't know about how tough it is, watch the demo video on the Invisible Shield web site (http://www.theinvisibleshield.com).
# 9 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
yeah, I love how the iPod look naked... so I'm getting InvisibleShield for it...
When the 5g Contour Showcase comes out I'd probably pick one up, in black of course. that case is great protection for gym use...

# 10 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
Does the InvisibleShield cover most of the iPod or only parts of it?
# 11 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
i am leaving the film on until i get protective case ...
# 12 Re: whos leaving the protective film on til cases arrive?
at first, i was interested in this invisibleSHIELD and almost jumped on the band wagon...
but i've digressed from there...
now this is only my own suspicion, but i think invisibleSHIELD = precut (and glorified) 3M scotchgard.
i found a 18"x3' sheet for $25shipped...the same price as the precut ipod video..
except i can shield my ipods...my cellphones...all of my remotes...my TVs...my shoes...even my stove top (why not?)...!
you get the point...
if you're careful, you can have the same exact item for a small fraction of the price.
all it is is just knowing how to measure and cut precisely and straight. (ruler and X-acto! duh!)
~24.50 bux to cut something...??
please......
i'll have my own shield and i dont have to wait for it to be available...
and i dont have to keep the ghetto stock plastic cover on...
I WANT MY IPOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think you're right tru5t...but for me, I would never be satisfied with a home-cut job, not if I cut it anyway. I'd probably have to spend hours on it to get it like I want. Cutting bits for the curved backside and the ports would be horribly tricky as well. I totally understand about doing it yourself, I'm that way about some things too. But for me, in this case, I'm willing to pay to have someone else do it. Besides, I'm not sure what else I would shield with the extra of the 18"x3' sheet--my Blackberry? Laptop? Get a few more, do the car? LOL, that'd be interesting...
