before buy need help
Hi I want to buy a new video iPod but I realy need to know how long will the battery last on a 5G 30GB.
I dont want full review but just an hint about it. Did it last a day in real life usage (10-12 hours) or far from it.
Just tell me your approximated running time if you have it.
I want to buy my iPod tonight so help me lol

I have hardly drained the battery entirely on mine, but as usual, Apple's battery specs appear to be accurate (15 hours for music, 2 for video). It varies wildly on how you use your iPod just like all battery ratings, including screen backlight, bitrate of your songs (higher bitrates means more frequent hard drive accesses), volume level, equalizer settings, etc.

and you, how did you used it...a lot(always changing songs) normal(sometimes) or never touch it?
I want to know if the 14 hours is in real life usage

I used it to watch video at relatively high volume. After watching a 42-minute show and before that just playing with the menus, it reported about half battery charge left. With my old iPod (20 GB 4G), I never ran out of battery life intentionally; the only times it happened is when I accidently left it playing with the iTrip connected (psychologically I made the connection that shutting off the car would also turn off the iPod which obviously isn't the case, but when the music stops, that's the connection you make).
You can likely get 14 hours if you listen at relatively low volume with no equalizer setting at Apple's recommended AAC 128kbps bitrate with no backlight.
