Firewire AC adapter?
I was just wondering if the ac adapter would work if it was one that uses a firewire cord and not a usb cord. I'm assuming so, but I'd like to be sure. Thanks.

I don't think anyone has any way of knowing yet for sure, but I'd be willing to guess that it would work. As far as I know, the FireWire and USB power adapters output the charge in the same way, so I don't think the iPod would know the difference. Then again, I don't know enough about the anatomy of the dock connector. That's just my guess, but we'll find out next week!

yeah, let me know on this one, because i'm thinking of selling my ipod and keeping the charger and firewire cable (i have the original 4G 20GB that had them in it) and buying the new ipod... but no charger really turns me off... and u know that it doesnt cost 30 bucks to make.

Charging over firewire is still possible with the iPod nano and the new iPod (5G). Only syncing over firewire is gone. If you have an old firewire power adapter, it will charge the new iPod.
