Will this thing support lyrics like the nano does?

So far the features look like they have all the new features from the Nano, so I guess it will.

What do you mean lyrics?

Like txt files showing the lyrics? Do they come across the screen?

Thanks

yeah, that was my question as well. I have heard many people say all the new features are the same, but no mention of the lyrics support.

No one has really had the chance to try I think. But I am quite sure it will be there, that's one of the reasons for me wanting one!!

By lyrics support, it means that pressing center a couple of times will bring up a "lyrics" view in which you can scroll through your lyrics. You can add lyrics to songs through iTunes.

Lyrics support... Hadn't heard of it, but it sounds like a great feature. Does the 4G color iPod not have this?

oh... I just ordered a 20GB 4G. I got it at a great price (about 40% discount), but now I am seriously going to consider returning it and getting a 5G or a nano instead.

'cuz to view lyrics on a 4G I will have to browse through a folder of text-files, won't I? And since the iPods (as far as I've understood) don't store music in folders, I guess there's no straightforward way of linking the lyrics to the songs?

Just a heads up for those still wondering: Early recipients of the 5Gs report that they do in fact support lyrics like the nanos.

Yes, I can confirm that it supports lyrics. Also supports the password lock.

anyone know of any good software to auto-scan the internet and load the lyrics to your library? I'm using iArt right now, which works great for album covers but the lyrics are a bit lacking.

dehlz: Are you using iArt 3.11? It supports a better lyrics feature. If that doesn't work, can you post me a few songs that it isn't so good for and I'll work on getting more lyrics support into iArt ;)

I'm using 3.11. It didn't seem to grab much at all, and I'm using testing it with fairly popular artists in all sorts of genres such as the Killers, John Mayer, Keane, Kanye West, etc. etc. I got about 2 songs to find out of all those.

Thanks.
