who is upgrading?
im selling my mini to a girl i know with dock connector 2 year warrenty with best buy .. its in perfect condition no scratches never been dropped.. lived its life as a spoiled ipod..
so who else is leaving the older ones behind and getting a ipod video.. im getting the 30 gig ^_^ not for like a month and half so she can save up but i cant wait no custom engraving for me

I'm upgrading... I needed more space on my iPod for quite some time... Had waited for it to become thinner...

I'm not upgrading, at least not yet...If my 3G's battery dies within the next 6 months or so, and I get my 50 bucks from the Battery settlement, I might upgrade...but by that time there might be something better...

im not nesearily upgrading cuz i didnt sell my old ipods i sold my snowboard and other misc things and i now hve 320 bucks and will be on apple.com shortly. black white ARAGH i hate choises.

I've had the 20 gig 4g ipod for about a year now, and I really like the new black 5g! So I may have to sell my old one and upgrade.

I bought a 60 GB Ipod photo on Sept 3 and now this comes out. I'm less than thrilled at the timing.

I was going to upgrade, but the battery on video seems very weak. I was hoping at least 4 hours... I'll wait for the tests and see. If the battery gets better, I'll upgrade.

i'm upgrading from a 3g 30gig - which is busting at seams -probably just use it still in the car
the video feature is nice for music etc but the meat of my files will be my music collection
ordered a black 60gig today.
ilife should be updating to add ipod from imovie ouput - for family - would be col the -instead of whipp out a photo from your wallet - show a video of your kids!

I'm pretty sure I will get the 30 gig black for Christmas. I have to see it in person first, but it looks good.

Defintiely gonna get the 60GB in black(?). I really don't need the video, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it somehow. Last night I told myself that as long as the new iPod was 60GB or more and that it didn't LOSE any major features I would be upgrading. Looks like I am now.
Having to pick and choose from my 30+GB library to squeeze into my 20GB iPod has been killing me. I really need the size upgrade.
I'm sure someone will say "Oh, well what about the loss of the remote port next to the headphone plug, that's a major loss."
Not to me, the only accessory I had was the iTalk, and I only used that for recording class lectures. Now, my new iPod will be for music, while my old 20GB will be used solely for recordings.
Though I do admit that it's disappointing I won't be able to use my friend's iTrip in his car when we drive to school and stuff. That's ok though, he doesn't let me put on anything that isn't ska anyway.

For me, since I'm getting a 60 GB iPod anyway, the G5 release is a nice thing.
The video is a nice feature, but the main reason I'm buying it is for the audio storage, as well as a good secondary function as a portable hard disk.

I was about to upgrade from my 3G 40gb, but had been balking at the expense. Now...it seems (at least for the time being) I cannot now upgrade.
I need the iTrip capability at my work. Not to mention a respectable case (I'm rather fond of the iVods). At present, the case vendors have not caught up as yet....and all the current FM modulators have been rendered useless by the 5G design factor.
So...like it or not... I now have to wait to upgrade until all of this shakes itself out. My prediction is that Christmas will now be the earliest I'll be able to revisit the matter....and at that time of year I have other things I need to be spending money on.
Guess it is time to look into replacement batteries.

I'm upgrading, but I've been planning to for awhile, with or without this ipod. My mini is all used up, and I got a lot more stuff to put on it.

it needs a battery replacement (badly!) and has a dent in the corner so i thought ' why not! ' hahahahaha and this is just hat i wanted :D

Went from 60gb photo, to 4gb Nano and returning the Nano for a 30gb I just ordered.
It is the happy medium of size and space. Just have to sell my Photo now.

I'm upgrading from my 4g 20gb.
Have to wait for it to be available through Sharper Image, though, as I'm applying $80 from my Discover cashback bonus toward the price.
Hopefully it won't take very long! :D

I am upgrading from my 2G 20GB model to the black 60GB. My only wish is that it had Wi-Fi/Bluetooth but that's it. There are other solutions to my problem. I can't wait!

I'm upgrading from a 1g mini and I can't wait! I outgrew the 1,000 song capacity long ago and, yes, I am one of those maniacs who have to carry their entire music library with them...
Also, I'm a writer and look forward to storing a large number of Word files on the hard drive. Didn't have space on the mini to use the hard drive for anything but music.
So I'm getting a 60GB black. w00t!

i upgraded...i sold my 40gb 4g with a cracked screen for $200...than i waited cuz i originally wanted a nano but this came out so i said screw the nano this one is mine...so i ordered a 60gb 5g
