outputting video on tv? whats the resolution?

is the video output to the tv limited to the resolution of files that can be played on the device's own screen?

SDTV resolution is fixed at 480 lines interlaced. Sending anything else other than 480i to a standard TV will result in no picture. The iPod's vertical resolution is exactly half that at 240 pixels, so any pictures you want to display on TV should be up/downconverted in resolution.

will it be able to play this file outputted to a tv as if i was outputting a computer or any other media player to the tv?
