I want somethign thin and clear so you can see the cool black color of the iPod but to protect it from scratches. Any links?

I'm afraid I can no longer recommend that. I put my iPod in a sock for one day (inside an inner jacket pocket), the most active thing I've done all day is playing table tennis and I wasn't even wearing the jacket at the time.
It's got a really annoying scratch just above the album art area as well as loads of other smaller ones.
The socks were perfect for previous iPods, both my 3G 20GB and 30GB photo were unscratched in them. The only thing the socks are good for is the back of the iPod which I don't have a single scratch on. I'm starting to change my mind about telling the other people with scratches that they have abused it.

The pocket had nothing more than the iPod in a sock and the headphones (stock apple headphones).
I've not experienced any problems with my previous 2 iPods and nor has my brother using my iPod socks. I was too ill to take my iPod out last week and I'm really not being helped by these scratches appearing after a day of it sitting in a pocket (I didn't even get it out, I thought I might use it today but I didn't).

That wasn't even remotely funny.
There are a few silicone cases out if you want one. They're clear albeit, it's silicone, so it's not crystal clear or anything. One of them was called ZCover and the other was Icewear I believe. Check out the cases forum.
